A couple of months ago i got an invitation to go to the U.S. for employment. nice location, decent pay, free housing and living expenses for a period of time, and endless possibilities...
BUT, i declined the offer for now. i cannot seem to decide which is better for me. so built my pros and cons list. and i still am building it until i know i've got everything listed out.
PROS:
warm weather (FLORIDA BABY!!!)
better pay than what i have now
independence
relatively inexpensive houses and vehicles
CONS:
healthcare system - $$$
i hate BUSH and his policies
hurricanes???
my family is not there
my boytoy finds it hard to leave his family - his own support system
AND THE LIST GOES ON....

INDEPENDENCE=EXCITING
i'm excited at the prospect of independence.
and why am i talking about this now? yes i'm 26 and i still live with my parents. if i were back in my home country, thats not news. but in North America, moving out of your parents house before you get married is considered, hmmmm-how do i phrase it in a less strong adjective-hmmmm, INAPPROPRIATE (?). thats why this topic is a great deal to me.
i spoke with a friend-colleague last night over MSN and he suggested we bunk together (as roommates) somewhere downtown if i get my job (and he gets a job ther too). say this will be 6 months to a year from now. i thought about it and there's a lot to consider. i know for the fact that my parents are not gonna like it coz i know they won't see the logic behind it since i'm neear public transit and downtown T.O. is only an hour or more away from our suburbia. and that i'm indebted to pay 4-years worth of back rent at my parents house plus the current months rent that i have to give. plus i got student loans that i'm planning to finish within 3-4 years. and that they don't like the idea of me and my BF getting it ON in my own place (LOL).
tough. but being the deviant daughter that i am, the prospect of uncertainty and taboo makes the idea more enticing to me. let's see where this goes...
