however Erik Erikson figured out the stages of development is beyond me. his theory about how adulthood is the stage for isolation vs initmacy is just right on.
when i was 16 i had a set of good friends.
then college came and my circle of good friends became even wider.
now, 10 years later, i can count by hand the number of people i can truly trust. and know by heart.
there is tommy.
and the rest is my family.
i'm sure i can still trust some of my closest friends from 10-15 years ago, but i honestly am saddened by the fact that i don't know them that much anymore. and they don't know me that much either.
growing up can be painful. it just takes a lot of effort to remain social. it shouldn't be this hard...
