Not Another Blog about Harry Potter...

i am simply awestruck. it still has not occured to me why Harry Potter is so phenomenal. i knew summer of 2007 was going to be exciting with the release of the 5th movie and the last book of J.K. Rowling's magical contribution to the literary world - Harry Potter.

when the movie came out at first in 2001, i still was not caught in the rapture. at first i did not know that it was based from the book (nor there was a book published in the late 90's to begin with). so i did not care much about it. it took much convincing from my friend Gemini for me to watch the movie and read my first Potter book (which is ironically the Order of the Phoenix)... and now, IM HOOKED!!! for my own good. i sorta wwent about it backwards - i purchased a copy of the Goblet right after coz i needed to understand why things in the Order unfolded as it had...then i read the Half Blood Prince which my sister had.

its so phenomenal and awesome that im scared i might lose my mind over it. like seriously. its easy enough to lose oneself in the fantasy work that Rowling has created for her readers. i find myself scrounging the internet for more Harry Potter related stuff - to search for the theories behind its appeal, and to listen to how other people come up with their own theories, or to simply listen to another person's point of view about a certain aspect of the plot! the curiosity just does not stop.

i think i'm going to be sad with the last book coming out soon. at first i was being irrational about it but it just makes sense that there should be a closure to the Harry Potter series. and hopefully it will explain a lot and make sense of all the mysteries that Rowling had effectively created. im so sure i will cry...seriously.

i purchased a boxed set of books 1-6 (adult cloth cover) and pre-ordered the final book from Amazon - and i am so excited and can't wait for it to arrive. i have to admit i have not read the 1st 3 books. so i dont know if i am going to start with these 3 books then re-read trhe 4-5- and 6th then the last book. yeah it sounds like a plan to me....

i cannot wait...
